专家简介：Gonghong Wei received his PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2006 at Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China, and then was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, Finland. Since 2011, he has been an independent Group Leader heading a funcitonal genomics laboratory for cancer research at University of Oulu, Finland. In June 2015, he was nominated as a senior group leader at Biocenter Oulu after an international peer-reviewed evaluation and onsite interview. Dr. Wei has received a prestigious Academy Research Fellow post from Academy of Finland’s Research Council for Health in 2014, and several awards including the Medix Prize 2015 for the best article published in the field of biomedical and clinical research from Finland in 2014, and the Best Doctoral Thesis 2016 Award at Medical Campus, University of Oulu. Dr. Wei has published ~ 30 papers in the international journals including two senior-authored Nature Genetics articles, and been invited as a reviewer for the journals such as Nature Genetics, Genome Biology and served as the Editorial Board Members for Scientific Reports etc. Dr. Wei is interested in understanding mechanisms of family-wide transcription factor targeting specificity, mapping gene regulatory networks to find druggable cis-regulatory drivers, genes and pathways with potential for personalized cancer therapy, and interpretation of genomic variations and alterations discovered by genome-wide association studies and whole-genome sequencing.
